As a communication and media professional who worked for India’s Public Service Broadcasters and other government agencies for more than 31 years, Sanjay planned, produced, scripted, edited and presented more than 5,000 programmes for All India Radio & Doordarshan in various fields like Law, Career Guidance, Youth, Current Affairs, Sports, Health, Nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene), etc.

While working as a Producer for AIR & DD from 1991 to 2019, his work was indirectly touching many lives but he always felt that it was not enough, neither to quench his thirst for value creation nor was it fair to his potential as a changemaker. Therefore, to promise fulfilment to the activist within him and satisfaction to the bold professional that he is, Sanjay quit his government job to redirect the fire in his heart towards the larger issues facing the society.

He was nominated by Doordarshan to the UNICEF’s Core group to formulate guidelines for Gender Sensitive Programming in Doordarshan (first for any TV organisation) and as a Member to the National Advisory Committee for Accessible Elections, constituted by the Election Commission of India.

According to Sanjay, his most gratifying achievement in Public Service has been drafting the Accessibility Standards for TV programmes for the Hearing Impaired. The same has been made mandatory by the Govt. of India for all the TV channels of the country benefitting more than 12 million people in India.
